TEN FILM FEST ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH NOISE POP
TEN Fest to Co-present Feature Films at Noise Pop
San Francisco, Calif. February 11, 2010 — The TEN Film Festival, the world's first film festival of not just movie trailers — but for movie trailers of films that are yet to be made, today announced a partnership with Noise Pop. TEN will co-present several films at the Noise Pop festival and lead Q&A sessions with musician Tim Rutili, writer and director of All My Friends Are Funeral Singers, and Barr Weissmann, director of Secret to a Happy Ending, after the screenings on February 28.
Noise Pop was established in San Francisco in 1993 as a yearly festival of local independent music and quickly grew into a nationally established festival. Noise Pop has since added a film component focusing on films about music that approach their subjects with a distinct voice and fresh perspective.
Funeral Singers, an official selection at Sundance in 2010, was written and directed by Tim Rutili, front man of the critically-acclaimed post-rock Chicago band Califone. Secret to a Happy Ending, a film about the Drive-By Truckers and directed by independent filmmaker Barr Weissmann, documents the band as they tour and record during the three most critical and traumatic years of their artistic development.
